Antti Kokko - Lead guitars

I was born in the late 70`s under the Burbot´s Nest at the Northern Finland place called Pudasjärvi. The land of hope and glory covered by swamp scenery. At the age of 11 I began to realize the energy of swamps and all endless cloudberry trips started a fire inside of my artist soul. I had to buy a guitar.

After self learning and some classical studies I realized I`m not here to play from notes and study stuff that has already been invented. I`m not the person who plays humppa at local folk dance stages. I truly tried. I wanted more and from the very beginning writing new material was my ultimate goal as a guitar player.

In the meantime I did lot of sports. Football, track & field and of course the one and only - crosscountry skiing. As my brother Pekka I started hunting. That is one of my hobbies that never gets bored.

After demo years my brother Pekka was ready to take me in his band called Ancestor back in 1996. I took the chance and hooked my foot to writing process and took overall lead of the bands musical future within couple of years. Of course we had fights but nothing serious - we are still brothers...:)

And then came Ancestor to it`s end. I moved to Oulu to start real studies and about the same time we got the recording deal. Hobby turned to a hobby that now pays itself. Studies went well and I graduated after 5 years from University of Oulu. I became a computer nerdie. The music has flown with good pace since then. Now my goal is to keep the Kalmah flame up. I want to show myself that I´m capable of writing energic and interesting Kalmah songs in the future as well.

And in the meantime I still do lot of sports. Mainly crosscountry skiing. And hunting but next fall for the first time with a German short haired pointer.
